To Begin...
One of the definitions of a survivor in the English
Cambridge dictionary is a person who continues living their life successfully
despite experiencing difficulties. I created this blog to hopefully create a
safe space to share my personal experiences and life lessons with others in
hope to connect with those who have had similar experiences or for those who
are currently struggling with some of the issues that this blog will be about.
I'm starting this blog simply to share, but also to raise awareness.
As I sit here typing, my 6-month-old Kitten is sitting on my
lap and I am so content with the person I have become despite my
struggles.
As a neurodivergent person who has experienced all types of
abuse during a fourteen-year long friendship, whilst simultaneously attempting
to escape from my alcoholic family home, only to realise I am on the autistic
spectrum and have been masking my whole life.
Unfortunately, I must also admit that I have not always been
privileged enough to have a home. Being homeless at a very young age, couch
surfing with my whole family and sleeping in random people’s homes just to find
shelter has definitely had a negative impact on my life.
I have thought about writing this blog for a long time and
it has taken a lot of courage to share my personal life experiences with
others. I view this as part of my healing process and hope it can inspire
others to share their stories. 😊
